Kamui is a very simple 30 minutes drive by car from Asahikawa or you can catch the bus.
The easiest way to get to Asahikawa is to fly and the Airport is located 20 kilometers south of the city and provides flights to and from Tokyo (Haneda Airport), Osaka (Kansai and Itami Airports), Nagoya and Seoul. Jetstar have connecting flights from Narita.
There are several rental car options at the airport or you can bus it to Asahikawa.
Another option is the train from Sapporo and that takes about 1.5 hours.
